Seating and Wheeled Mobility

Today's technology has given people with disabilities the ability to achieve a more independent lifestyle. Technology has improved in every area of rehabilitation field, including Seating and Wheeled Mobility. Proper seating and positioning are vital to people with disabilities because it affects all aspects of their daily lives. The seating and positioning team works with the client to determine his or her specific needs in the area of transportation and daily living seating systems. A properly-fitted seating system helps maintain good postural control, improves movement and increases comfort. A properly-fitted system is of special concern to those persons who have limited use of their lower extremities. The assessment of the mobility system should include trials of various mobility systems. An individualized report including a justification and specific recommendations will be provided to the client.
